PAYMENT
When you place your order, you will be able to choose from several available payment methods based on your geographic location. If you are in Romania, you can pay with a Visa or Mastercard, COD, or from your PayPal or Klarna account. If you are a Star BT or Alpha Bank cardholder, you can pay in installments. Orders from all other countries can only be paid online using a Visa or Mastercard or using the PayPal or Klarna payment system. If you are in one of the European Union countries, you can use both a personal card and a legal entity card for payment.
On our website, we use PayU services for online sales. Payment is based on a secure transaction processing system which ensures privacy of purchase and makes the online purchase process easy. Your bank card data is processed exclusively on the side of banks and the processing company; the POTAMY store does not request or store any information about your bank cards. Confidential payment details are transmitted directly in encrypted format (SSL).
In our store, the payment currency is linked to the country where the order will be delivered. When you perform a checkout, the amount will be debited in the currency that you specified when placing the order. If your payment card is registered with a payment currency other than the order currency, then your bank will convert the debit amount taking into account the conversion rate. Please make sure you select your region to correctly calculate prices and delivery terms. We strive to provide fair prices for our products in all countries, but those may vary depending on the country of delivery. These differences are due to many factors, such as exchange rates, local costs, market conditions and legal requirements. Please be assured that every pricing decision is made carefully and aimed at delivering optimal value to our customers around the world.
If you choose cash on delivery as payment option, you pay for the order upon receipt of the parcel directly to the courier company representative. Please note that you can open the parcel only after paying for the goods. If for any reason you decide to refuse an item, please use the returns procedure provided on our website.
If you choose online payment by card, the site will redirect you to a secure payment gate where you need to enter the card details: card number, expiration date, cardholder name, and CVV code.
If you are paying with a legal entity card, please include the entity’s full name and TIN in the appropriate fields when placing your order.
If your card is eligible for payment in installments, you will be offered either a full payment option or an installment payment option in the PayU payment window. Below, you can find the information on interest-free installments currently available in partnership with banks integrated through the PayU payment processor:
- 3 or 6 payments from Banca Transilvania (Star Card)
- 3 or 6 payments from AlphaBank.
To pay from PayPal, you need to open an account on the PayPal website. It only takes a few minutes to open an account there and it’s free. Once your PayPal account is set up, select PayPal from the list of options as your preferred payment method when checking out. Once completed, you will be redirected to PayPal to access your account and complete payment.
Klarna is a «buy now - pay later» method that enables customers to pay now, later, or in installments, depending on the country. Supported currencies are EUR, GBP, USD, RON. To pay from Klarna, you need to open an account on the Klarna website. Once your Klarna account is set up, select Klarna from the list of options as your preferred payment method when checking out. Once completed, you will be redirected to Klarna to access your account and complete payment. The first payment will be taken from your card when the order is processed, and the remaining two payments will be automatically charged every 30 days.

Please note that we expect payment within 48 hours after placing your order. If the order has not been paid, the corresponding status will appear in your Personal Account in the Orders section. We will also send you an email about the need to make a payment and remind you in another 24 hours if the order has not been paid. If we still receive no payment, the order will be canceled with the status “Canceled by the Seller.”
If the payment is successful, we will send you a confirmation email to the address you provided when placing your order. Invoice serves as a proof of purchase in our online store. For EU customers, taxes are included in the product price. The VAT amount will be mentioned in your cart page during the checkout process, and also in your invoice.
The price of the order and delivery does not include customs duties. No customs duty is charged when the parcel is delivered to the EU countries. If you order outside the EU, please be aware that you will have to pay customs duties in the destination country. These charges are subject to local customs authorities and are beyond our control. We recommend that you read the appropriate rules in advance. In those rare cases when the parcel is returned to us due to unpaid local duties, we unfortunately reserve the right to deduct the costs incurred from the refund amount of the goods paid for.
SHIPPING
Orders are processed and shipped Monday through Friday, excluding public holidays. Orders received after 12:00 (CET) will be processed and shipped next day. Orders received after 12:00 (CET) on Friday will be processed and shipped on Monday. As soon as the package leaves our warehouse, we will send you a confirmation email. There, you will find a tracking number and a link to the website of the courier company so that you could always locate the package. Delivery time starts after the dispatch of the email containing your tracking number.
The package will be delivered to the address you specified when placing your order. Please provide only the address where you are personally present on weekdays from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. and a valid telephone number where you can be reached. Once the package has left our warehouse, you will continue to keep in touch with the courier company, who will notify you of the delivery time in advance. In urgent cases, you can redefine the date, time or delivery address by agreeing on the new details with the courier. However, please remember that the courier may not always be able to change the route on the same day. The courier company makes two delivery attempts. If the courier does not find you at the specified address, the package will be returned to our warehouse. If this situation occurs again, we reserve the right to no longer process your orders.
In Romania, parcels are delivered by FanCourier. You can choose courier delivery or delivery to FanBox parcel terminals. Delivery takes 1 to 5 business days and it’s free subject to the minimum order amount of 40 euro.
International orders can only be delivered through DHL or GLS courier services. For orders exceeding 150 euros, delivery is free; for orders under 150 euros, delivery costs 19 euros. Minimum order amount is 40 euros. Delivery takes 2 to 8 business days.
Delay in delivery may be due to various reasons: public holidays in the destination country, unfavorable weather conditions or technical issues beyond our control.

If the estimated delivery date has passed, the parcel status on the courier company website has changed to “Delivered”, or the order status in your personal account has changed to “Delivered”, but you have not received the parcel, please email us at customerservice@potamy.com or contact us through the feedback page of our website.
